Laser hair removal for PCOS hair growth

Consultation + spot test are free. Booking this visit does not purchase a membership or book treatment.

Laser may reduce suitable pigmented hair associated with PCOS, but it does not treat PCOS or its hormonal drivers. An effective conversation includes the hair pattern, skin response, medical care, previous treatment, and the possibility of new growth or maintenance.

Separate medical care from cosmetic hair management

Continue discussing PCOS and any changing symptoms with an appropriate clinician. A cosmetic hair treatment is not a diagnosis or a replacement for medical care. Tell the laser provider about your medications and medical history so the treatment plan can be considered in that context.

Facial hair needs particular care

A coarse chin hair and fine facial fuzz may need different approaches. Laser relies on suitable pigment, and fine facial or neck hair may respond poorly. Unwanted increased growth after laser is possible; a provider should explain that risk and assess whether electrolysis or another option would be preferable.

Expect the plan to be reviewed

Hormonal growth patterns can affect the number and spacing of visits and the need for further treatment. A fixed series should not be sold as a guarantee that all future growth will stop. Ask how changes will be assessed and what would make the provider pause or alter the plan.

Grooming and irritation

Discuss the methods you currently use, including plucking, waxing, and shaving. Reducing suitable hair may help with regrowth-related irritation, but not every bump or pigment change has that cause. Persistent skin concerns should be assessed separately rather than assumed to disappear with laser.

Review the financial plan

Compare the recommended plan with the length and terms of any membership. Ongoing care may be needed after a term ends. Read the PCOS comparison guide and electrolysis information, then bring your questions to a consultation at Lotus.
